Survival Kit
After an earthquake is finished you should get outside quickly so it pays to hve a survival kit at the ready so you can just grab it and go.
Survival Kit
Put the following items together in a backpack or another easy to carry
container in case you must evacuate quickly. Prepare one for each family
member.
- Flashlight
- Radio – battery operated or wind up
- Batteries
- Whistle
- Pocket knife
- Emergency cash
- Sturdy shoes, a change of clothes, and a warm hat
- Local map
- Permanent marker, paper and tape
- Extra prescription eye glasses, hearing aid or other vital personal
items - Prescription medications and first aid supplies
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Extra keys to your house and vehicle
- Non-perishable Food (Canned food)
- Water – 3 litres per person (Change every 6 months)
Keep this in an accessible safe place, so it is easy to grab when you are leaving.
