What to do in an Earthquake at Home
Before
Go around your house now and identify the best places in each room to go to in an earthquake. Make sure it is not near anything that could potentially fall on you, Under a chair or desk is best but if their aren't any around under a door is an ok place.
During
As soon as you feel an earthquake go under a desk, chair or door frame. Drop, Cover and Hold.

- Drop down, take cover under a desk or table and hold on.
- Stay indoors until the shaking stops and you're sure it's safe to exit.
- Stay away from bookcases or furniture that can fall on you.
- Stay away from windows.
- If you are in bed, hold on and stay there, protecting your head with a pillow.
- If you are outdoors, find a clear spot away from buildings, trees, and power lines. Drop to the ground and cover your head with your hands.
- If you are in a car, slow down and drive to a clear place. Stay in the car until the shaking stops.
